Aile Général de Gaulle

The new section of the Musée de l’Armée tells the story of the Second World War with an impressive and effective array of touch-screens, state-of-the-art projectors and a wide range of artefacts. Notable exhibits in this exciting history lesson include an Enigma machine, gas masks and weapons from pistols to field guns and the V2 rocket. It’s not all glory and heroism, either; a video screen showing blood-chilling colour footage of gassed Jews being slung into mass graves at Belsen is swiftly followed by a full-size replica of the Hiroshima atom bomb.
